Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an action movie based on the Gordon Lightfoot song The Edmund Fitzgerald?

No.

What's up with the rating system?

Our rating system is based on two films: Die Hard, which is our model for the perfect action movie, and Rob Reiner's hilarous and brilliant 1984 mocumentary This Is Spinal Tap. From Die Hard we took what we think are the three most important elements of a good action flick: a plausible and engrossing plot, great characters, and humor. From This Is Spinal Tap, we took our scale. As Nigel Tufnel would say, "The numbers all go to eleven."

This is Spinal Tap is not really an action movie, so you probably won't find a review of it here at Preposterone. But if you haven't seen it, do. It's an 11. If you haven't seen Die Hard and need some convincing, read tpb's review.

I wrote a review, but there's no box art for it! How do I find the box art?

All of the box art comes from the folks over at Netflix. If no box art appeared for your review, check the following:

  • Spelling. The title of your film must be spelled correctly before Preposterone.com can find it in the Netflix catalog. Beware of older movies that have been re-issued. Aliens is a good example. In the Netflix catalog, Aliens is listed as Aliens: The Collectors Edition. Preposterone.com requires the full title, including punctuation, to find the box art. No need to worry about capitalization or spacing between words, though.
  • Year released. The year the film was released must match the year released in the Netflix catalog. Preposterone.com requires the correct year released to avoid having box art for the 1940 version of The Mark of Zorro starring Tyrone Power, for example, showing up for a review of the 1920 version of The Mark of Zorro starring Douglas Fairbanks.

If you've got the spelling and year released correct, but are still having problems, contact us. We'll be happy to help.
